DOJ Begins Probe of Fertilizer Producers for Collusion The U.S. Justice Department has launched an antitrust investigation into the U.S. fertilizer industry. According to a report from Bloomberg News, the probe seeks to determine whether leading commercial fertilizer producers colluded to raise prices.


The House Agriculture Committee passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act, otherwise known as the Farm Bill, by a bipartisan vote of 34-17. Congressman Dave Taylor (OH-02) voted to pass this full five-year bill, which contains many of his priorities that support Ohio’s farmers, producers, and rural communities.


The world’s largest food and beverage companies are apprehensive about the year ahead, as the latest data shows consumers have been pulling back on their purchases.
