5-8-25 -- March was a high performing month for US beef, pork and lamb exports as all three categories trended above year-ago levels for volume and value, according to data released by the US Department of Agriculture and compiled by the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF). 5-5-25 -- At least 15,000 Agriculture Department employees have taken the Trump administration's offers to resign, according to a readout of a USDA briefing with congressional staff that was shared with POLITICO. The departures represent a drastic contraction of a department that handles a diverse portfolio including flagship federal nutrition programs, food safety, farm loans and rural broadband initiatives, your host reports. 15,000 USDA employees have resigned from the department.
