ORLANDO, September 4, 2025 – Thanks to generous industry sponsors, 22 young women working towards degrees in the ag sector will receive a Women in Agribusiness (WIA) Student Scholarship, enabling them to attend the 2025 WIA Summit this month, September 22-24, in Orlando, Florida, USA.

Over the scholarship program’s 13-year history, $1.44 million has been awarded, which has benefited more than 400 young women pursuing careers in ag. These students gain industry knowledge, form valuable industry connections and mentorships, and can evaluate career paths in agribusiness while at the WIA Summit.
The scholarships provide full registration to the three-day conference and accommodations for the students – who must be full-time college students from freshman level through doctorate degree – studying in the field of agriculture or a closely related sector. At the Summit, students are set to meet their sponsors and invited to participate in all the activities of the conference, including tours, off-site receptions, a multitude of networking opportunities, and student-only events: breakfast, lunches and a workshop.
“Students are selected based on their strong resumes, demonstrated leadership, and passion for advancing agriculture,” said WIA’s Reagan Russell, who manages the program. “We work directly with some sponsors to pair them with students whose interests align with their area of operations in the industry, making the experience meaningful on both sides.” Russell noted that what stood out in the students’ applications – and there were more than 50 of them – was the genuine commitment to shaping the future of agriculture – from sustainability and innovation to advocating for the rural communities that they grew up in.
